Rumors

In the buildup to my move to Chennai, I’ve taken the opportunity to learn about my future home whenever it has arisen, by chatting with people who are from there, have visited or have lived there. People have been extremely forthcoming with information about India, but the funny thing is that the information never varies. Apparently, Chennai (and more generally, India) has three qualities:

1) Hot
2) Crowded
3) Really Spicy Food

Fortunately, I:

1) Have Been Living in Africa For the Past 1.5 Years
2) Like Cities
3) Enjoy Chili and Curry

None of these make me anywhere near prepared, but they do give me slightly more peace of mind. If anyone has any other indications of what the place might be like, I would welcome the insight.
